Our gardens whilst low in maintenance do require a very specific approach. They do not need traditional mowing, strimming, blowing and hedge cutting - we try to keep the need for machine intervention to a strict minimum. Maintenance in a dry garden requires hand weeding (until plants are established), dividing plants to develop the planting with a seasonal pruning and strim where necessary. The garden typically would have a three-year programme working with the existing gardener or a newly appointed gardener to allow it to reach its mature self-sustaining state, with a yearly programme for development thereafter, dependent on the individual garden.
